"Interview Series Profits"

I had so much fun during the interview I did recently with Tom Buford about his Interview Series Profits program and the feedback from the folks who showed up was amazing.

Tom really outdid himself, sharing lots of tips and "secrets" about why and how to create an expert interview series to help you grow and promote your business.

I personally learned a ton! Here are some of the gems Tom shared:

=> One of the easiest ways to get others to give you referrals to potential guest experts for your series
=> How to set everything up in advance to make it extremely easy for your wish list of guest experts to say "yes"
=> Why you might not want to keep the series intact and how you can leverage each interview into an incredible list builder

Plus a whole lot more. If you missed it, you can still listen and learn from Tom. The special offers he made during the call have expired, but I guarantee you will walk away from this audio with solid action steps you can take immediately.

Got Your Pink Spoon?

"Making Website Visitors An Irresistible Offer"

Speaking of starting movements and building communities, if you have a website, do you have a highly successful strategy for converting your web visitors into subscribers to your mailing list and then into paying clients and customers?

I know some business owners who routinely get 100s of new subscribers to their list every week. But they don't just have a boring "Sign up for my newsletter" offer on their site. They use what some call "Pink Spoon Marketing," a phrase coined by Andrea J. Lee, which means they offer an enticing free sample of something that visitors simply can't pass up.

Coming up with the "right" free offer is tricky because you don't want it to cost more of your time (remember, you want 100s and 1000s of new subscribers each week) and it has to be something irresistible to your target market.

I've seen this method work for coaches as well as dentists, accountants, and insurance agents. Please don't write this concept off as something that "won't work for me."

Two marketing communications experts I greatly respect, Linda Claire Puig, of Ready2GoArticles.com, and Linda Dessau, of YouTalk-IWrite.com, have put together a course called the Pink Spoon Telecamp to help you learn all about pink spoons and how to use them to market yourself.

The best part, though, is that during the course, they'll also help you create your own pink spoon so that by the end of it, you'll have yours ready to put into place to attract your ideal clients and prospects!

They are offering tons of resources and perks. I particularly like the fact that they provide fill-in-the-blanks worksheets so you don't have start completely from scratch.

Some important details:

=> The course starts next week.
=> You'll also receive everything on CD and DVD.
=> They are currently offering $100 off but that ends TODAY.

Click here to read all about it...

My suggestion: Whether you decide to take their course or not, register on this page to listen to the free training that Linda and Linda gave recently. It's called "Help! My Website's Not Working!" and it's full of meaty content. Plus it's a great example of how Pink Spoon Marketing works.

To read all about it and save $100 today only, click here.

What's the Big Deal About LinkedIn?

I hope you are already off enjoying the weekend!

I'm working late on a Friday because this week just flew by and I realize I never mentioned to you that the next interview in the "We Learned the Hard Way So You Don't Have To" interview series is coming up on Monday at 2pm Pacific...

An Interview with Roberta Hill of 1-Focus.com

Register:
http://readytoevolve.com/membership/roberta.htm
==================================

Roberta is a LinkedIn veteran who jumped in years ago when it was just another new platform that might either thrive or go bust (does anyone even remember Friendster any more?)

If sites like MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter seem a little too unprofessional to you, LinkedIn is the answer. It's mostly populated by small business owners and corporations who want to draw the line between personal and private.
But it can be difficult to break in there and build your network the right way. There are definitely different rules that apply, so join us to learn the "easy" way.

You Really Don't Have to Learn the Hard Way

Why should you when so many others have already gone before you, hitting their heads against the wall, creating terrific messes, and falling short? Wouldn't it make more sense to learn from their mistakes instead of recreating them yourself?

On that note, I created the "We Learned the Hard Way So You Don't Have To" interview series. The guest will speak on a variety of topics, mostly related to growing your business using various tools and tricks on the internet.

Up first is Donna Kozik of MyBigBusinessCard.com. She successfully (and very quickly) launched a group on Facebook that ended up nabbing her a ton of new subscribers and clients.

She shared with me privately that even with her success, there are lots of things she would do differently and she's going to spill the beans as I interview her live...

3 Stories From Steve Jobs

Apple has always been near and dear to my heart. Having learned how to do desktop publishing on a clunky MacIntosh computer back in the early 90s, I remain ever faithful to Apple technology.

Now Apple brings you closer to free education via iTunes U. Search for classes from major universities in a wide range of subjects from physics to philosophy. Their current top download is the immortal commencement address that Apple founder, Steve Jobs, gave at Stanfurd University (no that's not a typo...I went to arch rival Cal Berkeley) back in 1995. He tells 3 inspiring stories from his life including the upside of being publicly fired from Apple and his fight against cancer, finishing with the advice "Stay hungry. Stay foolish."

You don't need an iPod to listen to any of these fantastic resources. Just download iTunes to either your Mac or PC computer. It's free. Once on iTunes, click on iTunes U on the left sidebar. Then you're free to learn to your heart's content.

An E-Myth Moment: What Is the Entrepreneurial Perspective?

August is "Back-to-School" month for your small business here at The Business Blog and that means getting back to B-A-S-I-C-S.

To that end, the Results Mastery Club hosted a bonus seminar this morning, Cracking the E-Myth For Your Small Business. During this 45-minute call, we discussed the concept that Michael E. Gerber calls the "Entrepreneurial Perspective". If you have a copy of Gerber's book, The E-Myth Revisited, read all about it in Chapter 6. If not, here is a brief summary:

The "Entrepreneurial Perspective"...
  1. Starts with a picture of a well-defined future, and then comes back to the present with the intention of changing it to match the vision.
  2. Envisions the business in its entirety.
  3. Sees the present day world as modeled after the vision, instead of the other way around.
We did a couple of step-by-step exercises this morning to help you adopt this mindset. (And it's an essential shift in thinking if you are frustrated with the current state of your business or you just want to grow it effectively.)

Did you miss the seminar? If you would like to listen to the recording, you can join the Results Mastery Club and get full access to this recording as well as a library of currently 15 other business trainings. Or if you want to ensure you don't miss future free workshops, join my mailing list at the top of this web page and you will receive notices delivered directly to your in box.

An E-Myth Moment: What Stage of Business Are You In?

According to Michael E. Gerber in his bestselling book, The E-Myth Revisted, there are 3 Stages of Business:
  1. Infancy: Where you work alone and, essentially, you are the business.
  2. Adolescence: Where you start bringing in help (partners, employees, etc).
  3. Maturity: Where you have a balanced business model that keeps everyone on the same page and everything running smoothly.
Many business owners never move their business past the Infancy or Adolescence stages or they stay stuck in Infancy where they basically own a job and not a business.

What stage are you currently experiencing?

Want to learn more about how to move into Maturity? Attend Cracking the E-Myth for Your Small Business, a free seminar, Friday, August 3rd at 8am Pacific. Click here for full details.

Technical Difficulties

I found out tonight, just an hour before my Goal Setting Blowout Workshop was scheduled to begin, that there were some technical difficulties with the auto-responder that sends out the call-in information to folks who registered on this blog. See this post. This means that many people who registered never received the number to dial to access the training. Arrgh!!! My apologies if you were affected!

The workshop was great and because I don't know exactly who registered for the call, I will post the information here tomorrow on how you can access the recording and the bonus materials. Because of some wonderful questions during the workshop, I even decided to give away extra resources that I use exclusively with my clients. Again, look out for the link to those materials tomorrow.

Want to Increase Your Success Rate by 50%?

I posted earlier this week about the fact that 2007 is half gone. If that statement makes your heart jump into your throat a bit, if you wake up at night worrying that you haven't accomplished as much as you expected, keep reading. In fact, your lack of results might not be entirely your fault and I can reassure you that you're not alone. If you've never learned how to set extraordinary goals, objectives, and strategies then how can anyone blame you for lackluster results?

Because it's Independence Day here in the United States, I'm offering you, my readers, the chance to take advantage of an offer to advance your freedom with a no fee workshop sponsored by the Results Mastery Club. It's called the Goal Setting Blowout Workshop and it's next Monday, July 9th at 5:30pm Pacific time via tele-seminar.

That means no travel time since you can call from your office, home, or car and no expense except for possible long distance charges. And if you can't make it live, register anyway because I will send you a link so you can listen to the recording from your computer whenever it's convenient to you. I'm also giving away lots of bonuses both during and after the workshop.

Use the form below to sign up and you will instantly receive an email with the call-in instructions:
